On Wednesday, May 26th, Dude’s Army community had the great opportunity to host an AMA with StackOS’s team, very instructive and educational. We will share with you a little bit of what this experience was like.

The Dude👨‍💼:

To start the AMA with a good vibe I will give you freedom now to intro yourself and share a bit of your background!

Vishnu Korde:

I am the CEO and Chief Architect of StackOS. I have a background in engineering and have a patent in cryogenic engines which were designed to be utilized in nuclear powerplants. I have 2 masters degrees, one in International Business and second one is in Finance from Harvard University. I bought my first bitcoin in 2012 😅 My background experience has been focussed in could engineering (DevSecOps) and have build products and services which are cloud native and have also migrated really large organizations from data centers to cloud.

The Dude👨‍💼:

Explain our community what StackOS is building and why will crypto benefit from it

Vishnu Korde:

Don’t hold any of those now… but still a fun fact 🙂

Vishnu Korde:

StackOS is a cross-chain open infrastructure protocol that allows individuals to collectively offer a decentralized cloud where you can deploy any full-stack application, decentralized app and blockchain nodes (privatenets and mainnet). The cloud being decentralized results in anonymous application deployments, more secure, lower costs and no one can stop your application! We also built out the infrastructure keeping in mind that the developers are able to deploy an application in minutes instead of weeks compared to cloud providers like Amazon AWS and Azure.

In the crypto space, everyone rightly builds smart contracts on blockchain protocols, but they mess it up after by running the ui and backend applications on centralized servers. StackOS provides the foundation layer for infrastructure where you can run real world applications. Not just crypto apps but also traditional apps… we are targeting a market which is extremely large.. larger than the crypto space.

The Dude👨‍💼:

Just amazing! Thank you for the detailed response and awesome explanation!

Which development stage are you right now? When can we expect the product launch?

Vishnu Korde:

We are in the final stage of delivery, we have been working for over 3 years, and inly once we felt confident about being able to deliver, we took money from the VCs. We had our testnet deployed a month back, and we had over 1000 applications deployed in just under few hours. The credit went to the seamless deployments in stackOS 🔥. And since we were only in testnet, we had to put the open deployments behind a form. Currently we are accepting good projects to deploy to StackOS. We plan to launch our Mainnet in 2–3 months. and the first phase of it to open during the Neo Blockchain Hackathon. We are the official hackathon partner for Neo, we are also an incubated project of Neo 🙂

The Dude👨‍💼:

Wow! That’s amazing to hear. Congrats for building it over 3 years before putting it out. Only few understand that a working product is more important than anything.

Explain our community how Stack token will be used?

Vishnu Korde:

Right and a bear markets are awesome for development

There are honestly a lot of utilities of using the $STACK token, but to give a few example:

1) Stack is the basic currency to purchase compute resources in the StackOS ecosystem.

2) Whenever cloud resources are bought, a small percentage will be burned, making the token deflationary

2) You need to stake STACK tokens to be able to launch a node (and running these nodes generate revenue)

3) It is needed to generate NFTs for the application marketplace

4) The STACK token is used for governance when StackOS will be run by a DAO sometime in the future

5) We have built an ecosystem where any user in the community can draw the compute from the cloud providers (like AWS, GCP) and add that to the StackOS ecosystem. This is going to be as easy as a click on a button. 🙂

The Dude👨‍💼:

Wow number 5 is lit as well🔥

How cheap will be to deploy on StackOS cloud against current competitors

Vishnu Korde:

Deploying of StackOS will be much cheaper than current cloud providers since it gets better with economy of scale! also, there is an inherent design of automated DevOps which companies spend millions of dollars to set it up and manage….

Community Questions

Q1 from Al Bianco:

What is the role and importance of StackOS in the Neo ecosystem and how did you get Cointelegraph and Odaily to spread this news? Can you tell us more about this partnership and how important it is to the growth of StackOS? Why did you want to partner with Neo?

Vishnu Korde:

Neo has invested in StackOS (Monetory, Strategic and resources) as part of their incubation project. As the first phase of our involvement, Neo hackathon will be using StackOS’ cloud to run applications.

Partnership with Neo is a big deal, Neo is the Ethereum of China 🙂 hence these reputed dailys like Cointelegraph and Odaily have picked up this news.

The current involvements put StackOS in the forefront of the chineese market and its developers… and developers are going to be the backbone of StackOS growth.

Q2 from Luis:

You mention that people and companies can gain by contributing computing resources to the decentralized cloud of StackOS, but really what computing resources do you mean? And really no guidelines are required to be able to make the contribution?

Vishnu Korde:

Yes, these will be opened in phases, so you will see that organizations will be able to add compute based on the demand for resources, so in that way cpu, memory, DiskSpace, etc would scale as more applications get deployed. It would be an economic waste, when the utilization of the resources are not managed. There are several decentralized network boasting of thousands of nodes, but they don’t talk about the economic waste since no applications run on it to justify its capacity.

We will start by allowing cloud resources automatically provisioned based on the resource requirements by apps and once we have stabilized demand, we will release specifications of the resources people can launch.

Q3 from Leya Nirmala:

StackOS is created by a community living in the US, Europe, South Korea, and India. But do you have any interest in the Latin American communities? What communities do you currently belong to?

Vishnu Korde:

If you are from Latic America and want to help contribute, please reach out! 🙂 70% of our current team has been comprised of people who connected with us via the community! We are interested, and would encourage this!

Q4 from Ang Bronx:

Recently you announced partnership with RAZE, Your project seems very active on partnership with the likes of SAITO POLYnetwork to name a few, What does those partnerships brings to StackOs?

Vishnu Korde:

Thanks for doing the research in StackOS! Yes we announce partnerships every week. Almost all of these partnership involve these teams commiting to run their applications on StackOS. It basically powers any crypto project to be run on StackOS’ decentralized cloud platforms, and truly make it decentralized. We plan to be the Chainlink of the Decentralized cloud..

Q5 from CAN Ali:

Crypto projects often focus on existing crypto investors, but are there potential investors outside of crypto as well? Are you going to do any work to impress these investors and get them to invest in your project?

Juan Capilla:

Excellent question, we are funded by not just crypto institutional investors but also by traditional VC fund like FollowThe Seed. Also Andrey has joined our Advisory board after leaving as the chairman of a publicly listed company in Australia.

We are creating a solution not just for crypto projects about also for the traditional markets. and they will knowingly or unknowingly will be using $STACK tokens to run their applications … please watch out for our developments 🙂🔥

Q6 from Al Bianco:

What are the benefits of staking and investing in Plutos Network? What are the functions that your platform offers us and why should we invest in it?

Juan Capilla:

The benefits of Staking and Minting here at Plutos is that users will be able to get their token rewards as part of our incentive plan. As for the functions, as I explained before, we will be providing a synthetic issuance and trading platform with cross-chain features, better trading experience, lower collateral ratio for higher capital efficiency etc.

Q7 from Keymer:

Lately I have seen many projects that implement synthetic token emissions, but could you really tell us what benefits these synthetic tokens have? and are these really necessary in DeFi marketing?

Juan Capilla:

I strongly believe so. DeFi synthetic is still in the early stage of its development and will witness exponential growth when DeFi continues to grow and develop. The synthetic platforms are more like a bridge to introduce high-quality products from the traditional financial world to the crypto world. Me and Leon as old dogs in trading see this as the inevitable trend that DeFi will develop into. That’s why we started Plutos.

Q9 from Leya Nirmala:

Plutus Network is a Global project? Do you currently have a focus on the Latin American community? What is the vision regarding the community?

Juan Capilla:

Yes, we are. Core team members are from Madrid Spain and Amsterdam. We have one developer team in Shanghai and one in Malaysia. So basically we can do dev work 24/7. Yes, we do have plans for all key global markets like Latin America. We will be taking steps to do more localized business development and marketing operations in order to attract more users to Plutos. Only by doing so can we enjoy sustainable development.

Q10 from Leya Nirmala:

Q11 from Rosemary Bianco:

I understand that users can earn rewards wagered on Plutus. But specifically, what is the return or APY that people can generate? The rewards depend on the amount of tokens wagered?

Juan Capilla:

There will be various pools that users can stake and APYs will be different, based on the pool and the periods.
