AMA Recap of Dude’s Army x Ethermon
On Saturday, May 15th, Dude’s Army community had the great opportunity to host an AMA with Ethermon’s team, very instructive and educational. We will share with you a little bit of what this experience was like.

Please introduce yourself and share a bit of your background.

I’m head of strategy of Ethermon and I’ve been with the team for a little over a year. My professional background is actually in Chemical Engineering. Got a awarded a patent in payment security and just loved what all the development in blockchain.
Been a lurker in crypto since 2013 and got way more involved in 2017. Now focused on building in the space.

So why Ethermon? Explain our community what you are building and why is it innovative.

Ethermon is a free-to-play, play-to-earn NFT game where you collect Ethermons to level up, battle, and earn. The project has been around since 2017 and was one of the earliest NFT projects in the space.
Ethermon is pioneering franchising game content so that the community can own a piece of the game and earn revenue through revenue generating NFTs called METAs. These METAs are deployable in Decentraland and they allow the community to participate in the game at a deeper level.

So what happened? You guys are relaunching it? What changed?

Many of our smart contracts were built when standards were in development. I guess this comes with the territory when being early on the tech. As a result many of the efficiencies that you would expect with the latest developments aren’t there in our older smart contracts.
As we transitioned to a multiplatform game, the EMONT token didn’t have as many applications due to its rigidity on how that smart contract was designed so began formulating a new smart contract for $EMON that incorporated a lot of what we’ve become to expect from crypto projects.
Now this token can be earned, staked and leveraged in many of future developments.

Can you show us how will Ethermon game will look like?
When to expect it’s launch (game) and more info on the public launch (token)?

The game is playable in both our website at Ethermon.io as a 2D battle game as well as in 3D in Decentraland. You can acquire free Ethermon from our site (without needing any gas!) and you can jump into Decentraland and start feeding, battling, and digging for loot.
If you dig for loot, you’ll have a chance to find a golden ticket which gives you a spot in our whitelist for Polkastarter. (This is unannounced by the way, so you guys are the first to know about it)

Where are you guys planning to launch?

Yes, virtual reality in the sense that you can play in Decentraland which is an open metaverse where anyone can own land and the content on that land. This is playable right now. You can find links on our home page of our site on the right hand side.
The EMON token is launching on Polkastarter on May 18th. I believe we’re extending the whitelist eligibility by 24 hours. So you’ll need to get 3 Matic mons, 2 of which are free to qualify. Then you’ll need to start the KYC process before the deadline on our site.

Which exchange are you planning to launch? Pancakeswap? Dfyn?
I hope not Uniswap. Fees will take all small players away
And last point: What are token utilities?

As soon as Polkastarter is done the token will be available on Uniswap as a standard measure. Then soon after Uniswap the token will be available on Quickswap where the majority of the playbase will be.
The following are the token utilities to kick things off:
- Purchase Mons, Asset “Packs”, Meta Franchises and Cosmetics
- Purchase and Upgrade Battle Moves / Equipment / Rare Items
- Upgrade Metas and Enhance Gameplay Utilities
- Purchase and Upgrade Virtual Space
- Unlock Special Areas with Exclusive Content and Game Modes
- Entry for Gym Battles and PVP Tournament Entry

I could read that you have plans to hold tournaments and big competitive Ethermon events, so could you tell us about them? Where will they really be organized and how many achievements must be achieved in order to participate in them?

Great question! A large part of what we’re focused on is bringing a persistent gameplay experience. This is so that you can jump in a play to earn any time and at any level of commitment that you want.
On top of the persistent game, we want to hold these large Raid events where it’ll require the entire community to participate. Everyone will show up on our District (668 parcels big, worth about $6 million USD) to take down a rare Ethermon! If the collective community can take it down you’ll have a chance to catch it!
So you’ll need to be leveled up in order to participate.

Could you tell us how much attraction Ethermon has had? Really, how many new gamers are being added to your gaming platform on a daily basis?

Before we announced our launch on Polkastarter we had roughly 18,000 players actively playing. After the announcement we have over 45,000!
As a play-to-earn focused ecosystem, we want to make sure that everyone playing has a method to grow in the game and earn.
With that we’ve had our community mint 100,000 mons all of them with different rarity status.

Does Ethermon is up to creating my own NFT like create my own mons? :)

Interesting question. Many times we reach out the art community to come up with some Ethermon design concepts. We collaborate very closely with the art community. If you had some concept images to share we have a framework to work on a professional level.

I saw that Ethermon today concluded with its pools. Can you tell us more about this? Will there be an opportunity for other people who missed it? What advantages does Ethermon have that differentiates it from other NFT game projects?

Yes! There will be two more opportunities. Jump into Decentraland with your free Ethermon (you can get them our site) and start digging on Ethermon supported land. Keep digging to find a golden ticket. If your ethermon runs out of energy you can swtich to a new Ethermon to keep trying.
You can also battle Slime in Decentraland. Winning battles will drop loot, you might find a golden ticket here too!
So through battling or digging you can get a chance at whitelisting.
Finally, we have one more Ethermon called Mytier that you can purchase on our site (unannounced). There are 10 in existance and it’s a guaranteed whitelist spot!

Ethermon is pioneering a franchising model where players can own a piece of the Ethermon universe that generates revenue as an NFT!
These NFTs are known as METAs and can be quickly deployed in Decentraland. Think of these METAs as a little Ethermon business as an NFT. A few community members with these METAs have generated over 10,000 in MANA which is roughly $13,000 USD right now!
Building these components into our play to earn an economy is what will make Ethermon a sustainable earning economy.
